Walking in Praise, Walking in Blessings
Genuine praise glorifies God, and obedience unlocks His blessings. Offer heartfelt worship, align your life with His Word, and experience the fullness of His blessings daily.
“Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.””
Psalms 50:23 NKJV
Praise is more than words lifted in a song; it is an offering, the posture of a heart that acknowledges God in all circumstances, and the fragrance of a heart turned toward God. More often than not, we think praise is confined to church gatherings or moments of joy. But praise is our response to the greatness of God. When we remember who He is—the God who speaks, who comes, who reveals Himself—we cannot stay silent. Praise shifts our focus from ourselves to the One who reigns in holiness. It shifts our focus from what we cannot control to the One who reigns over all. It acknowledges God’s authority and welcomes His presence into our lives.
In this verse, the Lord reveals that we glorify Him when we praise Him; hence, praise is the pathway to glorifying Him. Praise is not limited only to moments of triumph but also in seasons of trial. When we offer praise, we proclaim the Lord’s worth above our circumstances. When we choose gratitude over complaint, trust over fear, and obedience over compromise, our lives become a continual sacrifice of praise.
Praising God is not about empty sacrifices or mere rituals; it’s about genuine gratitude. Praise flows out of a heart that remembers His faithfulness and trusts His promises. It is an offering that delights Him more than burnt offerings or outward displays. Every time we choose to thank Him in hardship, sing to Him in weakness, or exalt Him in uncertainty, we glorify His name.
The verse reveals that praise and obedience are inseparable—we cannot praise God when we are disobedient to His Word. That’s, although praise glorifies God, it must be combined with a life ordered according to His will and expressed in obedience. To “order our conduct aright” means to intentionally live according to God’s Word. We’re obedient when we choose His way over our own. When we say “Lord I choose to follow your way because I believe Yours is the best,,” we express faith and obedience. Such an act of obedience praises God. Obedience may sometimes feel costly, but it always leads to life.
Not only does this verse connect obedience to praise, but it also connects it to blessings. God promises that those who glorify Him through praise and order their lives according to His Word will experience His salvation. Salvation here is not only deliverance from sin but also the fullness of His blessings—peace, provision, protection, and joy in His presence.
Today, let your praise be sincere, your obedience steadfast, and your heart expectant. For in glorifying God with both your lips and life, you position yourself to receive His richest blessings.
